The Concept (创作理念):
This piece is a profound manifestation of my philosophy: “Memories are truer than reality.” It is not a mere depiction of a frozen landscape, but a visual reconstruction of a “spiritual home” buried in memory. In this work, the snow serves as a metaphor for purity and the “void” (Liubai) in traditional Chinese aesthetics, creating a space where the soul can find absolute stillness.
The Artistic Language (艺术语言):
• Likeness in Unlikeness (不似之似): I intentionally move away from photographic realism. The textures of the earth and the traces of the melting snow are rendered through rhythmic, calligraphic brushstrokes. It is the “spirit” of the winter—its chill, its silence, and its hidden vitality—that I seek to capture.
• The Dialogue of Light and Texture (光影与肌理): Through the heavy layering of oil paint, I create a tactile experience that mimics the physical presence of crusted snow. The subtle interplay of cool whites and warm, earthy undertones evokes a “Poetic Light” that exists only within the inner world of the artist.
